The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) announced in October that West Goshen Township will be awarded a $200,000 grant from the Community Partnerships Program for improvements to West Goshen Community Park which will include improved stormwater drainage, restored basketball and tennis courts, and improved bathrooms.
According to DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn, “Your DCNR grant award is a recognition of outstanding recreation and conservation work that should be shared with your community.”
“This grant reflects West Goshen’s commitment to quality park and recreation facilities and programs for residents and visitors to West Goshen Township, and will help to ensure that the facilities at Community Park meet the needs of West Goshen residents well into the future,” said Park and Recreation Director Ken Lehr. “This, combined with the Preservation and Park Grant Chester County awarded for this project, as well as the Vision Partnership Program grant awarded to West Goshen Township earlier this year for parks planning, assures the public that the Supervisors and staff of West Goshen Township will continue to strive to offer residents parks and services that contribute to the quality of life in the Township and help make West Goshen one of the region’s top residential and business destinations.”
“On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, I would like to commend the members of the Township staff who helped make this tremendous award possible and thanks to DCNR for funding the Township’s application,” said Shaun Walsh, Chair of the Board of Supervisors. “During 2023, the Township has successfully secured nearly $500,000 through state and county programs to enhance the outstanding park and recreation facilities in the Township. This displays our commitment to providing high-level amenities to the community.”
We look forward to seeing these projects through to fruition and are looking to secure additional funding for these projects. Please watch the Township website for additional information.
