Chris is no stranger to municipal government roles. Formerly the Malvern Borough Manager, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from West Chester University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Villanova University. He brings 13 years of municipal experience to West Goshen Township across a breadth of disciplines including budgeting, land use and stormwater/sanitary issues.
Being the Borough Manager of Malvern Borough for five and a half years he oversaw whole departments and worked closely with Borough Council and elected officials. Working in small municipalities his entire career, Chris was exposed to many different aspects of government.
“This role is not too different in terms of being involved in municipal management, but it is on a much bigger scale.” Chris states. “I am looking forward to the new challenges this role brings with it.”
In terms of the size of the municipalities, Malvern is only 1.3 square miles with 3,400 residents where West Goshen is 12 square miles with 23,000 residents. Looking for experience in a larger community in his career, this is how he found West Goshen.
What Chris enjoys most about working in municipalities and his new role is the fact that at this level of government, you can really do things that have a positive impact on people’s lives. Working at the local level, Chris knows that he is able to really make a difference in residents' lives in a more personal and meaningful way.
“There are a lot of tough decisions that need to be made, but there is a balance between tough decisions and making good decisions that will help the citizens. These decisions can improve people’s quality of life,” says Chris.
Chris is very excited to have the opportunity to engage with the community of West Goshen and work in a larger governmental organization. “The township is extremely active and there are things that I can get involved in and help with,” he states.
Chris views himself as an approachable person who is always willing to help and listen. He is excited to see what he can do for the residents of West Goshen Township. Currently, Chris resides in East Bradford Township.
