Dear West Goshen Residents and Business Owners,
On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, I hope that you and your loved ones are doing well. Like me, I am sure that with increased vaccine supply and widespread inoculation now available, you are eagerly anticipating putting the COVID health crisis behind us. I am very much looking forward to resuming in-person public meetings at the Township building, hopefully within the next couple of months.
Throughout the pandemic period, Township staff have continued to focus on ensuring that essential services are provided to our community as close to normal as possible, including pushing on with substantial infrastructure projects in our stormwater and sanitary sewer systems (read more about the Ravens Lane stormwater project HERE). As an engineer, I strongly believe maintaining and improving our physical infrastructure is critical for creating a vibrant community. These investments will support our neighborhoods for decades to come. It was certainly welcome news that the Township will be the recipient of Federal aid from the American Rescue Plan Act (COVID-19 Relief Bill) in the total amount of $2.27 million.
We have much more work ahead of us in 2021, including bidding for our Waste and Recycling contract; fully understanding the compliance and funding impact of our Stormwater Permit issued late 2019 by the PA Department of Environmental Protection; and on-going assessment of investment needed for road improvements, stormwater and sewer systems. As always, I encourage you to attend our public meetings, whether held virtually or in-person, as your Board wants to hear from our residents on all matters being considered. The Board of Supervisors meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of each month with the agenda and meeting materials posted on the Township website the Friday before the meeting.
Best regards,
Shaun Walsh
Chair, Board of Superviors
