Due to COVID-19 precautions, the West Goshen Park and Recreation Department has not scheduled programs or activities through the spring.
“The hope is that we will be able to resume summer concerts, Summer Recreation programs, and other group activities this summer,” says Park and Recreation Director Ken Lehr. “Our goal is to know the status of transmission rates later this spring so we can provide details of the return of public events.”
Factors affecting public events include the availability of bathrooms which would meet CDC requirements for COVID standards. As a result, permits are not being issued by the Park and Recreation Department for large picnics and parties in the parks through at least the end of June. Smaller groups of under 25 people may use picnic facilities provided that participants wear facemasks, follow social distancing protocols (at least six feet between people of separate households. Small groups would not be given exclusive reserved use of any pavilions during this time. West Goshen Township does NOT guarantee surfaces in picnic pavilions will be disinfected, so visitors to pavilions are advised to bring sanitizing wipes to clean tables and benches before and after use. Since bathrooms are unavailable, all visitors to West Goshen Parks are advised to bring hand sanitizer.
The Park and Recreation Department will not host any bus trips prior to Fall 2021. “We plan to release information about Fall bus trips later in the summer as conditions permit,” says Ken Lehr.
