Update February 20, 2023: The bicyclist involved in motor vehicle crash that occurred on 02/19/23 has been identified as Michael Thomas Ghione, 75, of West Chester, Pa.

On 02/19/23 at 10:16 a.m., the West Goshen Police Department received a report of motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. Upon arriving on scene, it was discovered that the collision involved a police vehicle from the Westtown-East Goshen Police Department.
Initial investigation indicates that the bicyclist was traveling north on South High Street in the area of the Route 202 overpass when it was struck by the police vehicle, which was also traveling north on South High Street. As a result of the collision, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the bicyclist is being withheld pending notification of family. The investigation is being handled by the West Goshen Police Department and is ongoing.
