Summer Recreation Program: Summer Counselor and Junior Counselor Summer counselors are responsible for the active supervision and
participation in a variety of summertime activities including sports, games, crafts, special events, weekly field trips, and more. Summer Recreation Program counselors are assigned to one of three park locations
supervising children weekday mornings between the ages of five and twelve. Summer counselors are also assigned to one Afternoon Sports Clinic per week. Summer counselor applicants are required to be 18 years of age
and have a high school diploma by June 18, 2012. Applications for the position of summer counselor must be submitted by Thursday, March 29, 2012 to be scheduled for an interview. The Park and Recreation Department
will also be hiring for the position of junior counselor which provides support to the summer counselors. Junior counselors are required to perform physical activity outdoors as directed by the counselors / program
directors and must be 16 years of age by June 18, 2012. The application deadline to apply for the junior counselor position is Thursday, April 26, 2012.
Summer Teen Program: Summer Teen Counselors The Park and Recreation Department offers our popular Summer Teen Program for participants
between the ages of thirteen and fifteen. In addition to planning, running, and supervising sports, activities and special events at Community Park, summer teen counselors attend weekly field trips and
participate in community service projects. Summer counselor applicants are required to be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma by June 18, 2012. Applications for the position of summer teen counselor must
be submitted by Thursday, March 29, 2012 to be scheduled for an interview.
